The last living Indian Ocean mermaids, impossibly handsome, intelligent, ruthless and deadly. They masterfully wield swords and tridents, training in areas separated from mermaid cities. While they are reclusive and prone to keeping themselves hidden, they are quite socially adept, some of them being more gregarious than others. They have no knowledge of the human-mermaid conflict due to their seclusion, and for that reason, they have a tendency of being more willing than other mermaids to visit areas dominated by humans.
Their powers are based on isolation, they have the ability to form a wall of fire around themselves, the ability to turn invisible, the ability to produce a sudden, ear splitting cacophony with their voices, the ability to swim at remarkably fast speeds, and (something given to all of the exterminated Indian Ocean mermaids) the ability to heal others through rhyme.

Fabled to be the dead gods of the darkest waters, these two Strider brothers only communicate with their brothers to train them to become more powerful. They know of the ominous events to come in the future, and because of their rarity as a group, strive to keep the last of themselves surviving until their time comes once again.
